Become a Member

SPIF is a part of the Linux Foundation’s Joint Development Foundation Projects LLC, designed to help not-for-profit groups operate.

• Membership levels

  • Contributor (free):

    • Show your support for the project—your logo will be added to this site

    • Provide input on future versions

    • Implementing members who conform to the standard may use the SPIF logo in their products and marketing

  • General members (free*):

    • All contributor rights

    • Participation in the working group to develop future versions

  • Steering members (free*):

    • All general member rights

    • Participation in the working group and steering the project

• Anyone may implement the standard using the specification and checking code to implement tools

* Per the terms of the Joint Development Foundation Projects structure, beginning in 2022; General members and Steering members may be assessed a fee, with Steering members having a higher fee than General members
